Windows 95

The setup program will install the Netscape data files on your system's hard drive and automatically run the "Account Setup Wizard for SEI Data". Follow the on-screen instructions putting in information such as your username, password and local access number when asked. The interface is extremely intuitive with verbose help and a point-and-click interface. The basic information that you will be asked for is as follows:

• Your full name (put in your legal name),
• Your company (a company name if applicable),
• Login name (you username in all lowercase),
• Password (your password as you specified it on your application),
• Service provider number (your local access number),
• Modem type (the default is usually correct),
• The number you are dialing from (your home phone number),
• Disable call waiting (check/uncheck if applicable),

All other questions can be allowed to use default settings (some of the above can as well)... simply put in the information above as instructed and click "Next" to step through the wizard. When the you have provided all of the required information you will have to click "Finsih" to allow the wizard to complete. Restart you computer if prompted to do so.

When this process is completed you should have "Dial SEI Data" and "SEI Data Internet Browser" icons on your desktop. Double-click "Dial SEI Data" and you will get a Windows 95 "Connect To" screen. Ensure that your username and password are typed correctly in the provided ("Username:" and "Password:") boxes and click "Connect". Your modem will dial your local access number, and log you into our system... Once connected, you can double-click your "SEI Data Internet Browser" icon to begin surfing the WWW.

Macintosh

1. Insert Disk 1 into the floppy drive.
2. Double-click on the Disk 1 icon.
3. Double-click on the installer.
4. Click Continue.
5. Click install (be sure to install onto your Hard Drive, which is usually the default).
6. Click Continue on the window that prompts you to quit all applications and restart.
7. Then follow all instructions that the computer prompts you for (e.g. like inserting the other disks).
8. When the computer you, click Restart.
9. Click next at the Account Setup screen.
10. On "Setting up Access to Your Existing Account", click next.
11. Select a local access number (this is based on the first three digits of your phone number, e.g. 744), then click next.
12. On "Account Information", fill in your First and Last name, the company field is optional, click next.
13. Type in your login name (usually lower case no spaces) and password (lower case no spaces as well if you are an SEI Data customer, Venus Net passwords are a combination of lower and upper case).
14. On "Modem Information", click next after it detects your modem, click next.
15. On "Dialing Information", type in your home phone number (plus area code), click next.
16. If you have call waiting, disable it, and if you must dial a prefix to get an outside line, enter it here, then click next.
17. You are now setup for the Internet, click to connect now, or at a later time.

Windows 3.1x

The setup program will create a "SEI Data Internet Access" program group on your desktop in "Program Manager". Double-click this program group and then double-click on the "Account Setup Wizard for SEI Data" and follow the on-screen instructions putting in information such as your username, password and local access number when asked.
