School Renovation Picking Up
        April, 2008

Anyone driving past the school recently can readily tell that renovation work is quickly moving ahead. Over spring break the front entrance changed and the athletic entrance saw more project fencing go up and that entrance changed as well. Both entrances remain open for use, but please be careful.

During summer the school, for all practical purposes, will be closed. Summer school is being hosted by Highland Hills this summer and many other activities normally held on campus over the summer will be moved to allow for more critical renovation work. A modified office will be relocated this summer in the old junior high offices at the west end of the building.

Despite the changes, school is going well. Everyone has been great about changing locations for student pick-up and for parking in general. By summer’s end, steel should be up for the two story addition and elsewhere. The first renovated and new rooms to open for use will be the art rooms in the front of the building (August) and the ROTC area (October). Work should start then on the new kitchen and cafeteria area. We hope that the new two story addition and new band and orchestra rooms will be open by next April. The last section left for bid is the new football stadium and soccer fields. It’s been an exciting time so far and all of us look forward to a newly renovated school.
