FCHS SPORTS

Home of Winners!

"The most important lesson I've learned from sports is how to be not only a gracious winner, but a good loser as well. Not everyone wins all the time, as a matter of fact, no one wins all the time. Winning is the easy part, losing is really tough." continued

The Beginning of a New Era

July 22, 2008

Greetings! I hope this newsletter finds you relaxing in the sun and enjoying the pleasantries of summer. It is that time of year again to begin thinking about the start of new school year. As we start this year, our school is embarking on a New Era. For the first time in fourteen years, a new administrative team will be leading Floyd Central High School. Mrs. Whaley, Mr. Willman and I are looking forward to our new positions and the challenges that face us as we strive to continue the school excellence created by the Marsh administration. Although our administrative team may be \new to our positions, we have over 20 years in administrative experience at FCHS. We accept this challenge and look forward to serving you this school year. We have an “Open Door” policy in communicating with parents. Please free to make contact with us at any time to discuss any concerns your student may be having at school.

Note to Staff - July 16, 2008

Construction is running just a littel bit behind schedule. We are hoping that the art rooms and the NJROTC classrooms will be completed by September 1st. Phase one (two-story, rotunda, band and orchestra rooms) is still slated to be completed by April, 2009. our current offices are located at Highland Hills and will remain there until Wednesday, July 30th. Please do not enter the building until after July 30th. After July 30th you may come into the building to work in your room. If possible, please stop by school before the first teacher day to empty your mailbox and to check for any summer shipments you are expecting.

Opening day activities will be at NAHS this year on August 11th. We will meet in our media center thirty minutes after the session ends at New Albany for a brief meeting. The afternoon will be teacher planning time and picture day for the staff will start at 1:00 P.M.. Please be sure and get you picture taken for ID purposes. Be sure to check your home mail for your fall teaching schedule and the itineray for the first two teacher days.
