The PTO Renaissance annual sports physicals are scheduled for next TUESDAY, May 13th at Highlander Point from 6-8 p.m.  No appointment necessary – forms will be available.

Senior week starts Monday May 12^th during YOUR LUNCH TIME ONLY in the West Wing of the building.

Seniors, the list of students that will be recognized is now posted in A Hallway in the Student Services window and on the office window near the cafeteria.  Please check this list daily as names may be added as we get late word of award winners.  Important, please listen carefully: if your name is on the list and you cannot attend please let Mrs. Newkirk or Mr. Clark know ASAP.  Also, if your name does not appear and you feel that you should be recognized please see your counselor as well.

Students interested in being on Student Renaissance next year need to stop by B-33 by this Friday and pick up an application from Mrs. Cambron.

Driver’s ed information sheets for both summer sessions of SUMMER SCHOOL are at the bookstore for those students who will be 15 by July 1^st.  You must return the application WITH A DEPOSIT to be in the class.  Deadline is May 23^rd.  Applications without a deposit will not be considered.

Remember, Picture ID’s will be required at the door at Prom.   Graduation tickets can be picked up from the principal’s office.  After Prom tickets are on sale in the cafeteria today  for $10.00. There is a daily drawing to win $20 towards after prom.  Tickets can be purchase at the door.

Lifeguarding & CPR re-certification class for people who are currently certified, will be taught on Monday May 12th at 6:00 at HHMS.  The cost is 30.00 per class.

Please check your lunch account if you believe you will be due a refund the last day of school - see Ms. Kramer or Ms. Keithley in the cafeteria to make arrangements to clear your account.  Seniors who owe money need to take care of that debt before graduation.  

Starlight Strawberry Festival Queen contest is May 24^th.  See the posting in A-Hall if you are interested.

New Albany’s agricultural and business departments are holding their spring plant sale now through May 15^th daily from 2:45pm to 4:45pm Monday –Friday and Saturdays 10am-2pm.  Choose from a large variety of bedding flowers and vegetable plants.  

Any student who has or will have a new address after June 3rd needs to see Mrs. Lockhart for the address change as soon as possible.  School mail is not forwarded.  In order to receive your report card and school registration information for next year – your address must be correct.

HH Gregg is offering a $500 scholarship to 40 Indiana seniors with a 3.0 GPA and a parent/guardian who serves as a firefighter, police officer, or paramedic.  Applications are available at hhgregg.com.  Deadline is June 2^nd.

Summer school PE signups are closed except to those who failed and need makeup.  See Mr. Jensen.

Summer is getting here and already we need to remind students of the dress code – short shorts and short skirts, spaghetti straps, too many holes in jeans. sagging pants.  Please avoid being sent to the office to call home by dressing appropriately each day.

Any senior girl who will be 18 by June 1^st is eligible to enter the Miss Madison Regatta Scholarship Pageant sponsored by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  The pageant begins June 30^th. See the posting in the A Hall window for more details.

Students are not to allowed to bring a visitor/guest to school without first getting approval from the principal’s office in advance.

Don’t forget your senior tee shirt if you have not already picked it up at lunch.  You can pay when you pick up your shirt.

Apply at Holiday Inn Lakeview as a lifeguard or available jobs. Applications can be filled out there and you will be called for an interview.

Once again from the office – students are NOT to exit FC from the doors of the auxiliary gym.  They are for emergencies only.  Please exit through the doors by the athletic office.

LOCKER CARDS – have you turned yours in?  If you haven’t, please do so today.  You will be assigned a locker partner if you do not choose one.  Return your card stapled with your locker partner’s card to the Bookstore. 

Morning Prosser students are reminded to be in the pick up area for the bus by 7:30 AM.

Nashville Auto-Diesel College is offering a $1000 tuition scholarship to a senior who wants to pursue a career in the auto-diesel or collision repair and refinishing field. Applications are on the scholarship board. Deadline is May 31.

Muscular Dystrophy is looking for camp counselors June 7^th – 14^th at Cedar Ridge Camp. You must be enthusiastic, sincere, at least 16 years old.  See the posting in A-Hall window if interested.

Abbott & Fenner Scholarships are available to all juniors and seniors in the amount of $1000.  You must write an essay on a given topic.  For more information, see the scholarship board.  Deadline is June 20, 2008.

Murray State University announces Commonwealth Honors Academy for juniors.  This will be held over the summer and students could earn 6 hours of college credit and be awarded a four –year scholarship to Murray State.  Information on scholarship board.

Oakland City University has scholarships for student interested in participating in Pep Band or Cheerleading! Also, if you are interested in pursuing a major in Business or Teacher Education, check out the scholarship board for information.

Presidential Scholarships are available at Indiana State for the top 10% with a 3.7 GPA.  See Mrs. Newkirk.

The Schubmehl-Prein competition is open to high school juniors.  Write an essay to win $1000, $500, or $250.  See the scholarship board for information.
